Yesterday, Google announced a significant step towards computer peripherals compatibility with its Chrome OS. Google Chrome Cloud Printing bypasses driver compatibility altogether by running the printing application through Chrome, according to Computerworld.

The service is still in its early stages, but Google released code and documentation as part of the open source Chromium and Chromium OS projects, reports eWeek. The Chrome OS is expected on netbooks by the end of the year.
