Miami Man Faces 15 Years for Identity Theft

A Miami man is facing 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two identity-theft related charges.

According to Computerworld, federal agents found more than 26,000 credit card numbers stored on Juan Javier Cardenas's computer. The Department of Justice says Cardenas purchased the numbers over the Internet between February 2008 and May 2009.

Cardenas pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to traffic in and possess unauthorized credit card numbers with intent to defraud, and one count of trafficking in unauthorized credit card numbers. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 18.
