Morgan Stanley has confirmed the attack, but says it was limited in scope.

According to e-mails leaked by the hacking group Anonymous, Morgan Stanley was the victim of the same China-based hackers who attacked Google's computers more than a year ago, says a Reuters article on Advanced Trading.

The e-mails came from California-based computer security firm HBGary Inc. v3.co.uk reports that Morgan Stanley has confirmed the attack, but says it was limited in scope:

At the time of the incident over a year ago, Morgan Stanley notified the handful of retail clients who may have been potentially affected by the security breach, as well as its regulators and law enforcement agencies.

The mass network intrusion, dubbed "Operation Aurora," occurred in the second half of 2009 and plagued a number of companies. The attacks were believed to have originated from China, although China has denied any involvement.
