The RealPlayer media player and the Opera Web browser release a new round of updates.

To address stability issues and vulnerabilities, Opera has released an update for the Windows, Mac OS X and Unix versions of its Web browser, reports V3.co.uk. The flaws could result in remote code execution attacks, denial of service, elevation of privilege and data theft.

Meanwhile, RealPlayer media player has released a patch for versions 11.0-11.1, SP 1.0-1.1.5 and 14.0.0-14.0.1. As the article notes:

The vulnerability could allow an attacker to remotely execute code by targeting an error in the player's handling of AVI files.

These updates come as Microsoft warns of an unpatched vulnerability in Windows that affects Internet Explorer users.
