Survey: Tablet Users Sending More Sensitive Data

Tuesday Mar 15th 2011 by Kara Reeder

Forty-eight percent of tablet users said they send sensitive data on the device, compared to only 30 percent of smartphone users.

A new study by Harris Interactive found that not only do tablet users send more sensitive information on tablet devices than they do on smartphones, but also they aren't very sure of the security of that data.

According to eSecurity Planet, 48 percent of tablet users said they send sensitive data on the device, compared to only 30 percent of smartphone users.

The survey showed that only 18 percent of respondents said they were confident in the security of the data being transferred over their devices. But there seemed to be a gender gap with 47 percent of men saying they were confident in the security of the data they transfer, while only 34 percent of women said the same thing.
