Trusteer Chief Executive Mickey Boodaei says, "Android's security architecture is not currently up to the challenge."

According to security firm Trusteer, as many as one in every 20 Android and iOS devices could be infected with malware by 2012, reports V3.co.uk. Trusteer Chief Executive Mickey Boodaei says, "Android's security architecture is not currently up to the challenge," exemplified by the recent wave of fraudulent applications and the ease of distributing these applications.

Boodaei says Apple's iOS platform is not immune either, especially for those who operate outside of Apple's App Store. Also, jailbroken phones are at risk of attack. Just this month, hackers released the latest version of JailbreakMe.com, which can be easily modified to attack iPhones and iPads with malicious PDFs.
