The U.S. is taking very seriously a coordinated hacking attack against Google, Adobe Systems and more than 30 other companies, says U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to Computerworld, the attack exploited an unpatched bug in widely used software, which allowed attackers to siphon out valuable intellectual property.

Google feels very strongly that the attack originated in China, since attackers also gained access to information about the Gmail accounts of Chinese dissidents. As we reported on our IT Business Edge site, the company is considering completely pulling its service from China.
