Citing studies claiming billion dollar growth in on-demand media, Cisco has announced a new certification for rich media in IP networks.
According to the company, its new certification, Rich Media Communications Specialist, will ensure IT professionals "have the training to develop the expertise required to design, install and manage rich media applications to address new market demands, including integrating video conferencing applications into a voice and data network."
Cisco products the certification encompasses will include Cisco CallManager for IP telephony, Cisco Unity voice messaging and Cisco IP Contact Centers.
Earning a Rich Media Specialist certification will require holding an active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and passing two additional exams:
- 642-481 CRMC -- Implementing Cisco IP Video Conference Rich Media Communications (ICRMC)
- 642-432 CVOICE -- Cisco Voice Over IP (CVOICE)
The company is offering the Implementing Cisco IP Video Conference Rich Media Communications (ICRMC) course, a self-paced class it expects most students will complete in about eight hours. The company's recommended training for CVOICE is available as a five-day instructor-led class, and as several e-learning options.
