Skype Updates VoIP Support for Symbian

Upgrade incorporates the SILK codec for clear audio, even on low-bandwidth connections.

"Skype, a global Internet communications company, released an update to its Symbian App, adding support for extra Nokia mobile phone models. Skype mentioned in a statement that the upgraded App 'Skype for Symbian' now comes with support to the Nokia N8, C7 and E5 models, increasing to 31 the number of Nokia phones supported by the App," writes TMCnet's Jai C, S.

"The eBay-owned Skype maintains that the upgrade enables 'crystal clear calls in CD-like audio quality, even when users are on a low-bandwidth connection,' " he writes.
