According to V3.co.uk, Coverity recently examined the Android kernel used in the Droid Incredible handset and discovered 359 defects, 88 of which could be considered high risk. Still, the company says that number is roughly half that of the average open source application that it reviews.
Coverity will not publicly release details on the defects until January so that vendors can have enough time to patch any flaws. The full report will be available to vendors.
