CloudGenix Raises $25 Million for SD-WAN [VIDEO]

Kumar Ramachandran, CEO of CloudGenix, discusses the promise and the opportunity of SD-WAN.

SD-WAN vendor CloudGenix announced on May 5 that it has raised a new Series B funding round of $25 million, led by Bain Capital Ventures and including the participation of Charles River Ventures and the Mayfield Fund. To date, CloudGenix has raised $34 million in funding.

In a video interview with Enterprise Networking Planet, CloudGenix CEO Kumar Ramachandran explains what his company is all about and why SD-WAN can have a big impact on operations, compliance and security.

"Customers want to treat their WAN resources the same way server resources are being treated in the data center," Ramachandran said.

In the WAN context, SD-WAN gives an organization the ability to mix and match public Internet access with MPLS access. For CloudGenix, its SD-WAN capabilities can be delivered as a cloud service or as an on-premises data center control plane.

"You can layer in our solution over an existing network," Ramachandran said.
